PERFORMANCE
& CAPABILITY

All Terrain Mover offers more capability for complex scenarios and is the preferable choice when;

  • Manoeuvring vans, boats and trailers above 3000kg on inclines of 5 – 10%
  • Manoeuvring vans, boars and trailers on softer terrain including grass and compact gravel

The All Terrain Mover by Optitec has a faster battery charge time and superior battery life compared to similar movers in the category.   As always, when buying from Optitec, you have a lifetime of service and support.

The All Terrain 4500 moves trailers, boats and vans up to 4500kg and a tow-ball weight of up to 450kg.

The All Terrain 2500 moves trailers, boats and vans up to 2500kg and a tow-ball weight of up to 250kg.

The All Terrain Mover will manoeuvre both single and dual axle trailers as well as on-road and off-road tyres.

The All Terrain Mover has an excellent turning circle, turning single axle vans in position and double axle vans with small movement from their starting position.  Note however, the turning circle is more limited when using the All Terrain Mover on fine gravel, inclines or on trailers with off-road tyres.

The weight, size and power of the All Terrain Mover allows it to effectively manage inclines of up to 10%.  See the All Terrain Mover specifications for load and incline limits across various surfaces.  Also note:

  • The load specifications assume the mover is based at bottom end of incline pushing your trailer up.  This distributes weight toward the All Terrain Mover and creates the required downforce.  Incline capacity is lower if you position the All Terrain Mover at the higher end of incline.
  • Inclines over 10% are not recommended as the All Terrain Mover is not connected to the van/trailer braking system.  While steeper inclines may be feasible with lighter loads, a high degree of  caution is recommended.
  • When using the All Terrain Mover on inclines it is recommended to limit turning circles to within 20 degrees to protect the track tyres.

The tracks of the All Terrain Mover means it effectively moves across concrete, grass and compact gravel.   If you are predominately moving a van or trailer on a non-concrete surface, then the All Terrain Mover will be your best solution.

However, there are some limitations to its capability on different surfaces;

  • When using on wet or very soft grass the turning circle is limited (mover directed within 20 degrees of trailer)
  • Very loose or small/fine gravel can enter the interior of the mover and risk damaging the motor.  This risk increases when turning on these surfaces.

All Terrain Mover will cease movement and stop in place when the remote control joystick is in the neutral position or upon turning off the remote control or by pressing the emergency stop on the mover.

The All Terrain Mover does not connect to your van/trailer braking system and therefore the load and incline guidelines must be adhered to to avoid any risk of slippage of the wheel and trailer.

SET UP & INSTALLATION

The All Terrain Mover comes with a mounting bracket to attach the mover to the front/side of your trailer drawbar.  No professional installation is required, and the All Terrain Mover can be attached or removed in under five minutes.

There is an option to purchase a tow-ball hitch attachment, however this attachment provides less stability and cannot be used if operating on inclines.

The purchase of the All Terrain Mover includes a mounting bracket to attach the machine to your trailer drawbar.   There are two mounting brackets to choose from:

  • Standard Mounting Bracket.  Best choice if your drawbar is 50mm wide.  The bracket will adjust to any drawbar height up to 200mm.  It is the best bracket choice for most caravans.
  • Universal Mounting Bracket.  Will fit drawbars of various widths; 50mm, 75mm, 100mm and 130mm.  It is height adjustable to fit any height up to 200mm.  It is usually the best bracket choice for boats and non-standard trailers.

Unfortunately, there is not currently a drawbar bracket available to fit gooseneck style drawbars or European caravans with Alko Chassis.  A tow-ball hitch attachment may be purchased, however this attachment provides less stability and cannot be used if operating on inclines.

Your trailer drawbar will need to be raised or lowered such that the bottom of the drawbar is between 350mm and 650mm from the ground.

The All Terrain Mover has an internal 16Ah Quick Release Lithium Battery.  The battery performance of the All Terrain is superior to comparable mover options available with fast charging (2 hour) and long life (1+ hours).

To maintain strong battery health over the life of the mover, the following steps are recommended;

  • Charge the battery to full capacity prior to first use (this initial charge period may take 6-8 hours)
  • Re-charge the battery after each use
  • Never leave the battery on charge for long periods or overnight
  • Periodically use and then charge the battery every 1 to 2 months

The All Terrain Mover is fitted with an emergency stop on the machine to enable ceasement of movement with or without the remote control in hand.  It has a digital display and lights system that notify the user of any usage or temperature concerns while in operation.
